I am 13 (i'll be14 in june) and i am 5'7, i play fottball so i need to bulk up so my friend suggested me to free weight soi am planning to buy a pair of 5kg dumbbells, can lifting weights stunt growth?
I have been lifting weights to gain muscle and to lose weight. I can tell I’m gaining more muscle in my arms but I’m not losing any weight either, Nor have I gain any. I have cut down on all of the bad foods and I have been exercising more, but for some reason I cant go below how much I weight now Why is that ?
Hey im 17yrs old 5'9" 230lbs. I started lifting in May and i was 280lbs. The last 3 weeks i stayed the same weight. I added in 2 miles of running 5 times a week 2 weeks ago and i still vary from 228-230. I use to lift heavy weights light reps. Now my goal is to be 180lbs cut, ripped, and defined. Im going to keep on running but should i now switch from lifting heavy weights and turn to lifting lighter ones to get my body out of its plateau and burn more fat?
I don't have a weight lifting class so I lift after school and I'm pretty much on my own. I tried coming up with my own little workout but I can't think of the right lifts to do and already my coached are telling me I'm getting smaller.. Any suggestions?

I am 6 feet and weigh 175 pounds. Can you please recommend me some workouts to drastically increase my strength, especially on the bench? I only started lifting two weeks ago but still, I can only lift like 110 lbs. I am looking for a workout that specifically targets strength gain. I take Black Stack (rotate with SuperPump 250) and Plasmajet before I go to the gym every day. I am also on probation, will these supplements show a false positive for THC, Cocaine, or any other drug?

I am a 17 year old guy from the US and have looked at the stats of the 56kg competitors. Their heights and weight match mine. Except I can't lift as heavy as them yet but I know I can match their numbers within about a year. I am quite excited and never really watched the olympics because I always thought smaller guys like me didnt have sports they could compete in so I never really took an interest. I would just have to weight train again. I have always been the short guy with strength and control since i was in kindergarten. They always used me as defense in football because they said no one would expect a small person to do much. Weight lifting is something I want to do. How would I go about getting into the sport to someday compete? I wouldn't mind gaining some pounds for a higher weight divison either if I had to.

I've just started weight training exercises and I was just wondering what is the average weight a woman can bench press and curl when she first starts, and how much weight is safe for a woman to build up to? and I have always heard that woman can lift weights and not look like the women in body building magazines. If i have been working out (weight training) with 5 lbs, 8 lbs, and 10 lbs for about 7 months.. Should i started adding more weight? I know that you are supposed to change because if not your body gets accustomed and isnt working out. What should i start using 8, 10, and 12 lbs? Isnt that too much for a women?

I've been lifting weights for a little while now, but I'm getting these tough calluses that my wife doesn't like. Also, my hands sometimes give out before my arms do. Would weight lifting gloves help? Also, I don't want to look like a meathead. I remember reading somewhere about these gloves that only fit on the inside of your hands - they're more like leather straps that go over the inside of your knuckles. Anyone have any idea what this could be? Or have other suggestions for weight lifting gloves that aren't so dorky looking?
I want to buy some weight lifting gloves but I am unsure about the size. Should they be skin tight or have some slack? Also, should the glove stop below or at the knuckle? I tried on out a couple pairs. The medium size was kind of tight and small and the large seems a a bit loose and long. I am not sure which ones to get. Any advice?
I'd like to buy some weight lifting gloves that will support my wrists. I tried the Harbinger Classic 130 and those were pretty good, but then I saw the Harbinger Pro 140 online and was wondering how those compare. Is there something better than Harbinger gloves? Thanks!
